How to Find LinkedIn Influencers & Creators (the Under-Tooled B2B Channel)

Updated 2026-08-10

LinkedIn is the strangest corner of creator marketing: it concentrates exactly the audiences B2B products pay fortunes to reach — and it is the platform every influencer tool covers worst. Both facts have the same cause, and it is exploitable.

Why the tooling is weak (and why that is your opening)

LinkedIn does not publish follower counts. The standard discovery playbook — index everyone, rank by followers — simply cannot run. Most tools quietly skip the platform or carry token inventories; we hit the same wall from the other side when our own pipeline's follower-based ordering silently buried every LinkedIn creator until we re-sorted by fit instead. The consequence is a structural inefficiency in your favour: LinkedIn creators are under-discovered and under-priced relative to the audiences they reach. The competition for them is low precisely because they are hard to find in bulk.

Mining LinkedIn without follower counts

Search posts, not people. LinkedIn's search works far better on content than on profiles. Search the problems your product solves, filter to posts, and collect the authors who keep appearing with real engagement — reactions and especially substantive comments.

Mine the comment graph. On LinkedIn the comments are signed with job titles. A creator whose comment sections fill with your ICP — engineering leads, RevOps managers, whoever buys from you — is showing you their audience composition in plain sight. This is richer audience data than most platforms' paid analytics.

Follow the reshare trail. Who reshares a strong post tells you which adjacent creators reach the same crowd. Two or three hops from one good author maps a niche.

Use an index built on signals, not follower counts. Our LinkedIn inventory (3,000+ creators) comes from mining industry conversations — who repeatedly authors substantive posts in a vertical — and each creator carries an audience profile derived from their actual content, searchable by audience function and seniority.

Vetting: different platform, same discipline

Fake followers are rarer here, but audience mismatch is not — plenty of "thought leaders" reach job-seekers and peers rather than buyers. The check is the same as everywhere: whose problems does the content keep solving, and who signs the comments. Engagement benchmarks matter too — text platforms run structurally lower engagement than short-video, so judge against measured platform percentiles, never against TikTok-calibrated folklore.

Working with LinkedIn creators

Contact is easier than average — LinkedIn is a messaging platform for professionals, and many creators list emails (platform contactability differs ~8×; this is one of the friendlier ends). Formats that work: substantive collaborations (a data drop they can analyse, early access with a real story) over ad reads — this audience punishes obvious sponsorship harder than most. Price from engagement (reactions + comments per post × CPE × 0.7–1.4, method here); with follower counts hidden, engagement-based pricing is the only recomputable basis either side can verify.
